Discover the use of redlining and systemic racism through the practice of creating lending maps in which minorities were not allowed loans in certain neighborhoods because they were considered risky investments. The course will explore history through the Polk County Housing Trust Fund, the books The Color of Law & Evicted, and the movie The Banker to learn how this practice has impacted generational wealth.

The Iowa Real Estate Commission REQUIRES full-time attendance and students to be on camera full-time with a working microphone for all Zoom courses.
